Eddie Howe

Manager on Newcastle United
Meeting Highlights

Eddie Howe couldn't held the press conference due to sickness. Jason Tindall held the press conference instead.

…HOWE’S SICKNESS

We expect him to be okay for tomorrow. He’s here working today. Eddie will certainly be out there on the grass today and take some part of training at least for sure. Then I imagine he'll go home and rest up and make sure he's in the best physical condition for tomorrow's game.

…PERFORMANCE

It’s really important for us to have that contact time and be able to get out on the grass and do the work we need to do to give ourselves the best possible chance of performing in the way we know we can. I think that’s shown in the last couple of games. We’ve had a difficult period, with the schedule we’ve had and the injuries, and I think that’s probably shown in a couple of our performances. But the last two performances and results have given us a lot of confidence, and hopefully we can build on that.

…ADEBAYO’S PERFORMANCE

He's finally realising what's getting him success is hard work. He's been brilliant since we came to the club and was a huge part of achieving promotion. He's been steadily improving so far in the Premier League like we all have.

…ST. JAMES PARK

When I think of St. James' Park, I think it's as close to Anfield as you can get. These places make a cacophony of noise. They smother the opposition teams and start so quickly. They'll be confident after their win against Aston Villa and we're expecting the toughest game possible. I can't wait.

…INJURIES

New signing Daiki Hashioka will not be involved against Newcastle, but Teden Mengi, Issa Kabore and Jacob Brown are all back in contention.
