…INJURIES

Jonas Omlin and Tomáš Čvančara are not available to us. All other players trained again on Monday. There are still question marks for one or the other, but we don't want to resolve the personnel situation before the game.

…STARTING LINEUP

It's always about the right mix. You always try to find a good balance to help the team. But it won't just be about the starting eleven on Wednesday, but also about the substitutes. In order to advance to the next round, we need a good performance from all 16 players who can play. That's why we're happy to have one or two players back on board.

…DARMSTADT

We are expecting an opponent who has deservedly come this far in this competition. The team is a good mix of young and experienced players. The Saarbrücken team defended very well against Bayern and Frankfurt, but also played dangerously going forward. They are a difficult opponent to play against and can be dangerous in transition play and through set pieces.

Meeting Highlights

…INJURIES

Clemens Riedel, Fraser Hornby, Mathias Honsak and Braydon Manu are out. Honsak still has problems getting going after his torn hamstring. He still feels slight pain when running. Manu, on the other hand, should be able to return to team training next week according to feedback from the medical department. With Gerrit Holtmann we have to see tomorrow whether it's enough for Saturday. Christoph Klarer had adductor problems and back pain after the Union game. But he is back in training. With Matej Maglica it didn't turn out to be that serious. He is operational. Fabian Nürnberger is back in training, as is Julian Justvan. So we got a few options.

…M’GLADBACH

Borussia Mönchengladbach are so well positioned and have so much man power that - even if they had played last night - they would have been there with the necessary freshness against us. The cancellation therefore doesn’t matter. The Gladbachers have recently increasingly used a 4-3-3 system. Especially at home, they have a duty to solve things in a playful way and they also have the players in the squad who can do exactly that. The team found each other after a bit of a problem at the beginning. Being able to play in Gladbach is one of the biggest games. It's an incredible club with a great fan base. This is pure football in Mönchengladbach. I'm looking forward to the game.

…RELEGATIONS

The fact is that we have to do our jobs and get our points. 1. FC Köln had their moment with their win last weekend. But we will also have our moment. We need results. Therefore we don't need to look so much at the other places. It is extremely important that we get the guys who are or were injured like Marvin Mehlem back into play quickly. I believe that the moments will still come that can bring about a turning point. That's not feigned optimism, just my feeling.
