Everyone wants to play. Of course not everybody can be part of the starting eleven, but all the players are 100% focused and are supporting the team. Everyone is hungry. Lots of players were injured and they now want to give their all for the team again.We’re staying humble and we’re well prepared, whilst we’ve also got respect for a strong opponent, but we’re not afraid. It's always about the next game for us. We're treating every game like a final.

After the first goal against Darmstadt, I saw our captain run onto the pitch and embrace Robin Zentner, looking like the happiest person in the world. That was one of my favourite moments from Saturday. That showed him to be a real leader, and how he’s embracing his current role and embodying our team spirit. He’s shown off the bench what he can do and adds energy to our game every time. That’s what makes this squad special.” With the prospect of possible injuries and suspensions, it’s also likely that Mainz will still need everyone to contribute in the decisive moments of the season.

We need to reintroduce Nelly slowly. We need him for the last few games and we're consequently not going to take any unnecessary risks. Hanche is a fighter and a leader. He works well together with Dome and Sepp. They give us stability and have the right mentality.

We accept everything that comes our way. Augsburg was also in the flow. It won't be an easy task. Mainz plays very intensely and defends unconditionally. We have to be there immediately to have a chance. We need 100 percent spiciness for 90 minutes. Our job will be to counter this. The first leg wasn't a good game for us, but now things are completely different. Mainz has found its way back to its strengths. The environment is emotional.

There are different components. We want to bring players onto the pitch who can work together and perform well. It's good for us that the substitutes are performing. Several players are in form, which makes my job more difficult but also more interesting.

There are no changes in the long-term injuries. Mergim Berisha is on the right track. Ozan Kabak was substituted last week but is fit again for the weekend. Dennis Geiger is also an option for the squad. Stanley Nsoki has hip problems and is likely to be out.
