I believe more that the players got to know me. I don't have the presumption of saying that I understood everything. Every day I pick up details which then become important. During this break we worked with a small group supported by the spring boys, who I congratulate you on the success against Inter. I worked both on and off the pitch, so I reviewed matches and attitudes, both at home and away.

Different solutions, changing roles and testing some things. I tried to modify the set-up. The premise is this: I got the idea that there are many players at similar levels but with different characteristics. Often the performance is similar but the characteristics are different. Each match requires certain characteristics from us. In Salerno we had to win at all costs and I really liked the attitude of the boys. I looked for new ingredients. I worked on consolidating possession.

They changed a lot. They try to be proactive, using tight phrases. Pellegrini is missing an important piece. The quality of the dribbling is the big change in these two months of De Rossi's management. Careful management of the pitch will be needed. Intensity and courage will be needed.

We spent Christmas, New Year, Boxing Day together, now Easter is fine too. We really want to start playing again, it's okay to skip a holiday to do what we like. We will have a very tough obstacle ahead of us like Lecce away, we know that now the points especially for the teams that are at the bottom are worth double, if not triple. It will be a very tough match.

They struggled in the last few races but won in Salerno. They will be fierce, unfortunately we prepared the race with little material from Gotti in Lecce because he only competed in one race. …NATIONAL BREAK
There are no major risks, the players have travelled, rested and trained little. This is the national team. I was part of the national team as a footballer and I have great respect for these moments. Yesterday we had an amazing training session and I was happy to see them like this. We unloaded today, but the feeling is that the team has already dived back towards the main objective.
