Approach to the Match

We will play our football. In all statistics, VfB is better except for two. On the other hand, we have more to offer. At the end of the day, one point that has spoiled our score in recent games is our defensive behavior and individual duel behavior. This is coupled with the fact that when things go wrong, we are no longer at the level of group tactical behavior we need to win games. This means that we must manage to defend VfB, which is currently one of the strongest teams. If we get this under control we have a chance. If we don't improve, it will be difficult.

Stuttgart

Anyone who followed the relegation battle against HSV knows that it is no surprise that VfB are really good. Perhaps few expected this after the departures of key players in the summer. They are rightfully at the top of the table. I'm glad there's finally a Württemberg duel in the Bundesliga. Years ago, it would have been unthinkable that this duel would be Heidenheim versus Stuttgart. It's great that we can play against VfB in the Bundesliga.

Heidenheim

Heidenheim have won two home games so far, they are doing very well for a promoted side and they are making a great effort. They will be ready for this and make life difficult for us. We expect a difficult match and we are ready.

Hoffenheim Defeat

We want to get the three points and start another run in the Bundesliga. To do that we need to get three points in Heidenheim and we are confident we can do that despite the challenge we face.

Frank Schmidt

Frank is a key figure at the club and a lovely person who has done an incredible job at Heidenheim over the decades. But we still want to beat them on Sunday and to do that we will need to put our stamp on the game and prevent them from taking control of proceedings. We need a good game plan and we need to be fully alert. This will be a difficult task.
