Meeting Highlights...HOME WIN NEEDED
We’re very happy about winning those three away games. It’s obviously annoying that we’ve only won once at home in the second half of the season. But we’ve hosted some decent opponents and we’ll be happy to finally win at home again.

I don’t think Mainz belong where they currently are. Now they have a lot more energy on the pitch – their injured players are back and they have plenty of quality in the squad. They had so much energy that they blew Hoffenheim away. It was impressive.

We have to play with our maximum energy, stay 100% focused and work as a team. Otherwise Mainz have the potential to take advantage of our current shaky home form.

We’re a team who can both score goals and defend. That’s what football comes down too. Those are two of the most important things. If we play like that, we’ll have a chance against any team. It’s always all about hard work. The whole group understands that and we’re proud of it. We’re not going to get any help and it doesn’t matter how the other clubs do. We need to resolve this situation on our own.
…PREPARATION
We have a lot of competition for playing time. We need to manage that and make sure everyone gets some time on the pitch. It isn’t just the regular starters who have experienced an upturn in form in recent weeks. – the impact that substitutes can make is just as important.Everyone gives their best for the team, whether they play 10, 20 or 30 minutes. We’re happy that we have a good squad. That’s why I’m not afraid if someone gets a yellow card or is threatened with suspension. Because the players on the bench are in form, too – they just have to show it.
…POINTS NEEDED
They're good on the ball. They’re a creative side with skilful players who can create a lot of chances. Our power, our faith and our faith in our own abilities. They’ll be looking to use this same combination to give themselves the best possible chance of another important step towards survival. We’ve got players who know how to score goals. We create chances every game. However, we’re aware that we’ve got to work hard and defend well. We’ve got to hunt as a pack. In this situation, we need to keep picking up points.
