Meeting Highlights

…EMILIANO MARTINEZ

To say something about this is when he’s being successful individually and collectively with his club here at Aston Villa and his national team. He’s being successful with Argentina, he’s being successful and progressively getting better here with Aston Villa. And individually he’s being successful because he’s saving a lot of matches as a goalkeeper. Of course, he’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world – the first, the second, the third. For me, the best.

…BOURNEMOUTH

Bournemouth are really playing very well, they are very, very competitive. They are demanding a lot from their opponent if we want to beat them. My first objective today is trying to recover as soon as possible the players who played yesterday for 120 minutes. The emotion we had yesterday was as well very important too, to reduce and recover full energy for Sunday. We will need today evening, tomorrow trying to recover with the players on Sunday to be again strong. The match on Sunday is going to be very difficult. I appreciate Bournemouth’s coach, the players, how they are playing – their style and their idea, always they are pushing and pushing and pushing. Matches against them, like we played there, was really difficult. We have to be focused and we have to try to impose our gameplan. But it will be difficult.

…INJURY REPORT

It’s difficult to know today how the players finished exactly, thinking how they are going to be for Sunday. Not available for Sunday is Álex Moreno, and Tyrone Mings, Emi Buendía, Jacob Ramsey and Boubacar Kamara. I think no more, but after the match we played yesterday we have wait for the last training tomorrow and we’ll decide.

…ABOUT THE MATCH

You see the next games when they play Thursday, normally they are playing well. They have been getting the results. So I think it's a squad that is used to making effort every three or four days. Probably they will be in a good mood also because for sure it was important for them. And also knowing the results of the English clubs this week, probably they need a win because they will be fighting with Spurs for this last spot for the Champions League, so I'm sure it's going to be an important game for them.

…ASTON VILLA

They are very far. They are in another level I would say. It's not that they are in Europe and they are in European semi-finals right now. They are fighting to qualify for the Champions League. Their season, has been, for me, amazing. They have a very good team, a manager that I rate very highly. And it's going to be a difficult, very difficult game for us because they are, especially at home, they are really, really strong. And we will have to be at our best if we want to have any chance.

…INJURY REPORT

I think we will recover Antoine Semenyo. I think he will be part of the squad if everything goes well tomorrow training and that's it. We are losing Sini from the other day that obviously is injured, and I don't expect any more changes now. Some are getting closer, but I don't expect them for the Villa game.
